FROM THE EAST
Brethren,
It couldn’t have been a finer day than January 7, 2012. The sun was out, temperatures were in the upper 40’s and Saint James Lodge had a full house (over 90 people) for our annual Installation of Officers. There were 19 Past Masters, 3 Grand Masters, (2 Past, Most Worshipful Jeremy Sawyer, Most Worshipful David Lamprey and the present Grand Master, Most Worshipful Paul M Leary and his wife Margaret) and DDGM Robert Sutherland in attendance. Also many family members and friends of officers being installed. I would like to thank Most Worshipful Jeremy Sawyer and his seasoned Installation Team for the great job they did in pulling it all together. Afterwards a
wonderful ham and bean supper was served in Barker Hall. Many thanks to Brother Cooper, his wife Pam, Sue Walker and Kathy Montgomery for all their help.

On the following day my wife and I traveled to Star in the East Lodge for their Installation of Officers, and met the new Worshipful Master Paul Brown and officers. I was glad we could attend.

Brethren, I’m looking to form a couple of new committees: (1) Masonic Memorial Services Committee that would be made up of Past Masters; anyone interested please
contact me or Brother Paul Cuetara, and (2) Activities Committee; also contact me or Brother Jon Austin, JW. Both of these I believe are worthy endeavors.

Look well to the calendar for February’s events. Our Special Ladies Valentine’s Program will take place once again. There will be entertainment.

This year the Four Square Program will take place at the Star in the East in Exeter. This is a semi-public event with a 6:00 dinner and a Flag Program at 7:00.

Brethren, it’s nice to see a full Lodge Room. Please try to attend one of our programs or degrees.
As I am writing this on the 22nd of January it is inevitable that some information will not make February’s Trestleboard. Hopefully this will improve with time.

Alan E Jones, Worshipful Master
